Course Requests for High School Students
Aeries Student Portal
1. Getting Started — Accessing Course Requests in the Aeries Student Portal
- Log In to your Aeries Student Portal account (NOTE: Only student accounts can update course requests. Parent accounts can view requests only)
- From the Welcome page, click on Classes from the left side menu (or search for the page).
- Select Course Requests Entry
2. Navigating —Course Requests Entry
Course recommendations made by your current English, Math, and World Language teachers are listed by subject as the “Primary Request” along with the Social Science course required for the grade level
3. Selecting Courses
Search for courses under “Filter Courses”. Type in part of the course title or course number in the “Name or Nbr” box or use the Sbj Area (Subject Area) drop down menu to find the desired course then click SEARCH
Select the course from the list by clicking on the title.
The course will appear under the Primary Request for that subject. To request a course as an alternate, select “Request Alternate”

Most courses are year-long: Year-long courses are indicated with an “A” at the end of the course title (i.e. English 3 H A shown above)

Would you like to take a Zero Period Class? Delete the course request that says “No Class 0”

Taking a Summer Course? Select the course beginning with a 4 to indicate Summer

Want to take a different course than was recommended for you?
If you are currently taking English, Math, or Foreign Language, your teacher has recommended the next course you should take. If you wish to take a course that you were not recommended for or do not meet the prerequisite:
- Delete the course recommendation
- Add the course you wish to take instead

Add the following course title to indicate request for placement:
- English Request for Placement = Admin E
- Math Request for Placement = Admin M
- Science Request for Placement = Admin SC
- History Request for Placement = Admin SS
- World Language Request for Placement = Admin WL
- Fill out a Request for Placement form (available in the Counseling Office) for each applicable subject
What now? Counselors will meet individually with each student to review his/her course requests. Refer to your Scheduling Worksheet or Course Recommendation Letter for further instructions.
